Gangbe Brass Band was formed in 1994 by 8 musicians, all coming from Cotonou-Benin. These young jazz musicians played with different bands and joined together in creating this unusual mix of traditional styles.

The goal of this band is to promote the original music of Benin . The result is definitely both modern and traditional, as it links jazz with the traditional Benin. They take traditional rhythms and add jazz harmonies. This mix unveils as much musical tradition as possible, at the same time giving it a western tone, thus connecting the past and the future.

Taking a tour of world music festivals, the band Farafina became the ambassadors of the beautiful African country of Burkina Faso .
